DLSG in Davao

27 – 29 May 2011

Not a fan of early flights.

We left Manila at 4:55 a.m. and arrived in Davao around 6:30 a.m.

Anyways, after breakfast we went to Eden Nature Park. We took a tour on a shuttle, which sides were open.

We saw some flowers and trees. Not the boring regular flowers and trees I see everyday. (Like I see any flowers at all during summer, lol)

They call this a Mickey Mouse flower because of its shape.

We went to a replica of  a Badjao village, complete with replica houses, Badjao statues, and tour guides.

After the tour, it was still ten, so we decided to go and do something in the park. Originally, we were going fishing, but if we caught a fish, we had to eat it for lunch, and grilling it was somewhat expensive. So Dad and I decided to go ziplining. Whatever possessed me to agree. It was fun, scary, and awesome. The cable car ride in Hong Kong was scarier though. But I didn’t scream there, unlike in Davao. And that scream was manly, mind you.

After lunch (lack of chili FTL), we went to our hotel, the Waterfront Hotel. It was big. It is also like Fort Ilocandia. The buildings weren’t tall but it covered a lot of ground. Unfortunately, our tour of the place was cut-off abruptly, since the rain decided to troll us.

Mama’s classmate and her husband took us out for dinner at a seafood restaurant. That was all we did for the first day.

We went to Pearl Farm Beach Resort the next day via boat. It was a long boat ride. They gave us water in containers that looked like water balloons.

Nothing much to say about the next two days, since all we did was swim.

We had pizza for dinner at day two. Hot sauce burned.

Also, we saw some fish, and before leaving we did fish-feeding. Those fish swarm at the food faster than Legendary Six Samurai. (Probably didn’t make sense lol.)

The end of the Davao trip also marks the end of all summer trips. (Which also means I’m going back to school.) This was probably the best trip this summer. Next trip is on Friday, June 17.

(Travel Tips: We found it cheaper to rent a van in going to Eden Nature Park  from the airport instead of taking a taxi. Also, for a group of 4, it is cheaper to stay overnight in Pearl Farm rather than going there for a day tour and staying in a hotel in Davao for the night.)
